The Girl who Stood on a Grave

Some boys and girls were at a party one night. There was a graveyard down the street and they were talking about it.
"Don't ever stand on a grave after dark" one of the boys said. "the person inside will grab you and pull you into the grave with them".
"That's not true" said one of the girls, "it's just an old superstition". The boy looked at her and said "I'll give you a dollar if you go to the cemetary and stand on a grave". "A grave dosen't scare me" said the girl in a strange tone. "I'll go do it right now".
"How do I know you'll really do it" asked the boy. "Here, take my pocket knife and stick it in the grave, and that way we'll go down later and see if it is really there".

The graveyard was filled with shadows and was as quiet as death. "There's nothing to be afraid of" the girl told herself, but her breathing was getting faster and she could feel her heart beating in her chest. She picked out the first grave and went and stood right on top of it. Feeling even more scared now, she quickly stooped down and plunged the knife as far into the ground as she could. Feeling even more frightened now, she turned to leave as fast as she could, suddenly she felt a tugging on her leg, something had hold of her and she couldn't get away. Her heart started racing even faster, and she couldn't catch her breath. She didn't want to look back, she was afraid just what she might see. She started screaming, and her heart beat faster and faster until it couldn't beat anymore. She fell to the ground, dead.

When she didn't come back they decided to go and look for her. "I bet she went home like a scared little kid" said the boy who dared her to go. They entered the graveyard and called her name. When there was no answer one of the girls spotted something on the ground not too far away. they went over to investigate and found the body of the girl, sprawled across the grave. The knife thrust through the hem of her dress, pinning it in place, and a look of terror on her face. Apparently without realizing it she had pinned herself to the grave... or had she?...
